Not your serious Montreal techno-club of sweaty revelers and laser light shows, this Saint-Laurent mainstay offers a mixed bag of DJ styles including hip hop, rock and electro funk for some of the world's most-eccentric musical talents. Accessed through an entryway staircase, the interior space is divided between two rooms in opposing Mao-red and vibrant blue color schemes with naughty booths and dark corners. Each offers its own separate dance floor and bar attended by muscle dudes and bartenderesses like Stacey who can martini shake like no-booties business. Each room is attended by dueling DJs with their own unique sound including Saturday's Dave Shaw that mixes disco '70s with modern day hip-hop. When things get too heated, normally around 1am when the place is packed, make way to the Polynesian-theme terrace for a bit of socializing and midnight flirtation
Tips
Pace yourself. Montreal gets a late start on weekend with most clubs, including Tokyo Bar, not heating up till well past midnight.
Last Word
